ACCOUNTANT I

The Accountant I plays an integral part in maintaining the success of the Enterprise. Under direct supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accountant I will work closely with all facets of the Finance department: payroll, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and general ledger management. This position will be expected to employ critical thinking and detailed analysis to ensure operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Hol-Mac is committed to develop future finance leaders. This role provides hands-on exposure to all major accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance
  • Contribute to the monthly close process by completing account reconciliations, recording daily journal entries, and other monthly accounting transactions. 
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist in the preparation of various tax related matters, including filing of year-end 1099s and payroll taxes.
  • Assist with certain month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Carries out additional duties as needed or as assigned.
  • Collaborate with various departments to assist with financial decision making. 
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in Accounting or a Finance related field
 

Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • Ability to conduct critical decision-making
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Data analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
