Accountant I

The Accountant I plays an integral part in maintaining the success of the Enterprise. Under direct supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accountant I will work closely with all facets of the Finance department: payroll, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and general ledger management. This position will be expected to employ critical thinking and detailed analysis to ensure operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Hol-Mac is committed to develop future finance leaders. This role provides hands-on exposure to all major accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance
Contribute to the monthly close process by completing account reconciliations, recording daily journal entries, and other monthly accounting transactions.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Assist in the preparation of various tax related matters, including filing of year-end 1099s and payroll taxes.
Assist with certain month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
Carries out additional duties as needed or as assigned.
Collaborate with various departments to assist with financial decision making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field
0-3 years of experience in Accounting or a Finance related field

Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
Ability to conduct critical decision-making
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Data analysis
Effective written and verbal communication skills
