Manufacturing Engineering Technician

A Manufacturing Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by providing technical support and assistance to engineers and production teams. Their responsibilities involve a combination of hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaboration with various stakeholders.  As well as addressing special projects, assisting with SWP development, and providing manufacturing assistance to machine operators.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete the HBT Program (Hol-Mac Basic Training).
  • Abide by Hol-Mac’s Environmental Health and Safety Handbook.
  • Provide manufacturing assistance to machine operators.
  • Address special projects and areas/items that need immediate process improvements.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for targeting processes for immediate improvement and implementing corrective action.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: 2 Year Technical Degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Working knowledge of machine operation, manufacturing processes, & time studies
  • Preferred working knowledge of CAD software (i.e. SolidWorks, Auto CAD, etc.)
  • Must be PC and Windows literate; proficient in Microsoft Office products: including Excel, Word, and Access)
  • Candidates will have successfully completed training in the following areas: (NOTE: candidates may be exempt from participating in certain sessions if they master the pre-testing for that particular skill area.)
    • Blueprint Reading Training
    • Measuring Devices Training on the following required measuring device(s):
      • Tape measure (English and metric)
      • Steel Rule (English and metric)
      • Micrometer
      • Caliper

 

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and SolidWorks (2D and 3D)
  • Ability to be creative
  • Resourceful problem solver 
  • Must be self-starter and motivated to bring projects to successful completion on time
  • Must be a team player, willing to pitch in and help other team members when needed
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and ability to actively listen
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive professional attitude and work ethic
