BUILD YOUR CAREER WITH THE INTERN/CO-OP PROGRAM

The Internship/Co-Op Program is a program designed to develop young manufacturing leaders and engineers while introducing them to manufacturing. This program will expose career driven employees to technical manufacturing processes and management skills through:

  • Foundational training (Hol-Mac Production System, Blueprint, Safety, Quality, Hydraulics, Soft Skills Training, and Systems Training)
  • Targeted leadership skills training
  • Participate in multiple Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW’s) as a part of Hol-Mac’s Continuous Improvement effort
  • Weld training and completion of AWS Weld Certifications
  • Machinist training through Hol-Mac’s machinist (NIMS) training program
  • Assembly training in plants working on Pac-Mac and Donkey Forklift assembly lines
  • Electrical systems training at Hol-Mac Electrical
  • Develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with expertise in fostering strategic relationships
 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8/4.0 (no rounding) or 3.0/4.0 depending on functional area.
  • Full-time student (12 semester hours) attending a four-year university and have completed 12 semester hours prior to the start of the internship within driving distance to the facility in which they will be working.
  • If transferred from a two-year university, have completed 12 semester hours at the four-year university prior to the start of the internship.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Soft skills are learned that allow for communication amongst team members on the production floor. Great communication is key to effective problem-solving.
  • Gain basic skills in welding, machining, assembly, and electrical systems through hands on manufacturing experience.
  • Develop the ability to consider the production processes involved in the manufacturing of products. – “What does it take to manufacture this product?”
  • Understanding of the Hol-Mac Production System and Hol-Mac’s Processing Systems to effectively connect engineering to production demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist design engineers and designers with prototype development in a production environment.
  • Support Hol-Mac Corp. Lean Initiatives.
  • Receive training and learn how to draw mechanical parts using SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and designers to aid in creating product design specifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and manufacturing engineering to establish best product design practices.
  • Learn how to use engineering analysis and engineering programs to support product designs.
